The article editor in Joomla! 3.x is a huge improvement over the layout that was used in old versions, thanks to the new Administrator Interface. For me, however, there’s still some room for improvement.
I never use the “Images & Links” option in Joomla 3.x as it’s far from intuitive, and not that many templates fully support the feature. What is the point of having a bunch of fields that you don’t use in your editor?
Fortunately, you can disable the “Images & Links” section from your editor, and doing it is fairly easy.
Instructions
1. In the Menu, go to Content > Article Manager.
![Click the "Options" button.](https://i0.wp.com/poweruserguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/2013-07-05_17-03-55.png?resize=625%2C313&ssl=1)
2. In the Content Manager, click “Options”
![Click the "Editing Layout" tab, then set Administrator Link & Images to "No"](https://i0.wp.com/poweruserguide.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/2013-07-05_17-04-40.png?resize=607%2C403&ssl=1)
3. In the “Options” screen, click the “Editing Layout” tab (1)
4. Set “Administrator Images & Links” to “No” (2), and click “Save”.
The result is a cleaner Editor Layout, which should help you focus on what the Editor is made for – writing awesome content.
